Like China, several countries are also promising for esports athletes. South Korea is no exception. Even though we are more familiar with the existing pop culture, Starcraft and League of Legends players are like gods there. We can remember how Faker dominated like a celebrity. However, the trophies from Worlds have fallen into other people’s hands during the past three years.

In 2020, DAMWON Gaming from South Korea finally brought the trophy back. DAMWON Gaming beat Suning Gaming with a score of 3-1. Although they dominated in the first game, Suning had to accept their defeat in the next 3 games. Best of Five (BO 5), DAMWON Gaming gave a consistent performance throughout the match.

Moving from the middle of the LCK board to finally becoming the champion of Worlds 2020, of course the DAMWON Gaming story is like a fairy tale. Not only that, their Jungler named Canyon also became the MVP at Worlds 2020. Amazingly, the Jungler is still 19 years old and of course has a bright future.

Even though the world is currently busy with Wild Rift, there’s nothing wrong with appreciating the winners of Worlds 2020 right? Once again, congratulations DAMWON Gaming!
